What to Expect

Treatment Expectations

Initial Consultation

When attending the practice for a treatment, before anything is carried out an initial full health and lifestyle consultations will be completed. As a result, we can ensure the treatments are suitable and safe for you to undertake.

Depending on your treatment, the initial consultation may include a blood pressure reading, a temperature check and some postural analysis. However, if you are not comfortable with any of these, please let me know and we can adjust the consultation for you.

Massage Treatment Requirements

Back Neck and Shoulders

For massage treatments, including back, neck and shoulders, I will ask you to remove clothing from the upper part of your body and lie on the massage couch face down under a blanket or towel.

Full Body Massage

For a full body massage, remove all clothing apart from your lower underwear. Again, you will be required to lie on the massage couch face-down under a blanket or towel.

Indian Head Massage

For Indian Head Massage, if you are not having oils I will ask to sit on the massage chair facing the chair. Please wear a lightweight t-shirt.

If you are having oils I will ask you to remove clothing from the upper part of your body and as when having the treatment without oils, I will ask to sit on the massage chair.

Finally, I will make any necessary adjustments to the chair and ensure you are comfortable.

Please note, for all massage treatments, you will be provided with a large towel to ensure your modesty.

Reflexology Treatment Requirements

Reflexology

As reflexology is mainly carried out on the feet, all I will ask you to do is take your shoes and socks off and sit on the massage couch. Then, I will adjust your seating as needed, and place support under your ankles.

Before starting the treatment, I will cleanse your feet with peppermint water and check for any blemishes and areas of dry skin.

For reflexology, I tend to use a massage wax specifically for reflexology treatment. This is made from beeswax and if required, a vegetable based carrier oil can be used. Please let me know in the initial consultation if you would prefer an alternative massage wax to be used and that can be arranged.
